Recently, Manchester United player Ighalo pleaded with governments around the world to intervene in the violence in his native Nigeria.
Nigeria has recently suffered violence as a result of citizens protesting against police brutality. According to reports, several deaths and multiple shootings have been caused.
After Manchester United beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1, Ighalo released a video calling the world to pay attention to the situation in Nigeria and to help prevent the Nigerian government from killing its citizens.
The Red Devils striker said in the video: "I am not the kind of person who talks about politics, but I can no longer remain silent about what is happening in Nigeria. The government is killing citizens. We hope that governments around the world and the United Nations can intervene in this matter."
Nigerian players are highly concerned about the violence that broke out in the motherland. In the Serie A match last weekend, Osmeen and Nvankovo also called on Nigeria to stop the violence after scoring a goal.
